Welcome everyone! So you’ve obviously landed on this page to find out more about who I am, what my background is, why I started on this exciting venture that is my blog, and what you can expect. Well starting at the beginning (because it’s a very good place to start — Julie Andrews, anyone?!) Daisy Jeffery – my self-titled little corner of the internet – was set up in May 2015 as an outlet for documenting my passions in life. With a career already working full time as a Features Editor for a homes magazine I felt I needed somewhere that would allow me the opportunity to write about my other interests in life, including fashion, beauty, travel, food and fitness, and to me a blog seemed the perfect solution. Don’t get me wrong I was initially nervous as it’s quite a personal thing to do, but after reading blogs for years and reminding myself if I write for a living I shouldn’t be so worried, I decided to just go for it and start my own one up.
So now for the background: I graduated in 2011 from a Journalism and Media degree at University of Portsmouth and immediately began interning for some of the London publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, The Daily Telegraph and Hello magazine among others before being offered a job at leading UK homes mag Homebuilding & Renovating where I spend my days editing content, writing articles and handling graphic design work — working on my blog at night and on weekends.
For me, my blog is a great space where I can just be myself, get creative in front of and behind the camera (my trusty Canon EOS 600D which I got off the beautiful Grace — go check her blog out at DorothyandOlive.com, as well as my nifty little Olympus Pen E-PL7) and share everything I’m passionate about. I am in no way, and never claim to be, an expert at the topics I write about, and my tastes and style are forever evolving. What you can expect from this site however is a range of reviews, tips, guides, shopping hauls, style posts and plenty of honesty.
Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy reading! For more on what I get up to, you can visit my social pages by clicking on the icons in the navigation bar.
